NewsDesk: National Oatcake Day

It’s national oatcake day tomorrow and the city council is encouraging everyone to get involved and celebrate Stoke-on-Trent’s local delicacy.

What do you fill your oatcakes with? What’s your best oatcake recipe? Join in the conversation and post pictures on social media using #oatcakeday and #sot2021. And remember to like and share other content during the day to spread the message far and wide. Plus, watch out for a special oatcake video featuring the Lord Mayor Councillor Ross Irving and Councillor Anthony Munday by following and liking sot2021 on social media.

There’s also a chance to win an sot2021 t-shirt in an oatcake selfie competition. Simply tag @sot2021 in your selfie pictures on Twitter and use #sot2021. The best photo and winner will be announced on oatcake day.

People across the city will be taking part in the celebrations on Tuesday, 8 August as part of the push towards claiming the UK City of Culture 2021 title. We hope you can get involved and spread the word about the wonders of the oatcake.
